Implant Dentistry

A replacement tooth that behaves like the real thing.

Carefully planned replacement of missing teeth, restoring stable function that feels like your own.

What it involves

What is implant dentistry?

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone, where it takes the place of a missing tooth root. Once the bone has grown tightly around it, a crown, bridge or denture is attached on top.

Because the implant is anchored in bone, it feels stable, lets you eat normally and helps preserve the bone that would otherwise shrink away after a tooth is lost. Bone takes time to heal, so the full process usually runs over several months — and that patience is exactly what produces such a solid foundation.

Implants are also the answer when conventional dentures or bridges have never quite fitted, or when there is no natural root left to build a stable replacement on.

What we offer

How we approach it here.

Thorough planning

3D CBCT imaging shows us bone volume, nerve position and sinus anatomy, so placement is planned precisely before treatment day.

Single tooth replacement

An implant replaces one missing tooth without needing to prepare the healthy teeth on either side.

Multiple teeth and bridges

Several implants can support a bridge, restoring a whole section of the mouth.

Stabilising loose dentures

Implants can secure an existing or new denture so it stays put while you eat and speak.

Bone grafting where it is needed

If there is not quite enough bone to hold an implant securely, grafting can often build the site up first.

An honest assessment

Implants are not right for everyone. If a bridge or denture suits your situation better, we will say so.

Is it right for you?

This may be worth a conversation if…

Only an examination can confirm what you need. These are simply the situations that most often bring people in.

You are missing one or more teeth

Whether the gap is recent or has been there for years, it is worth knowing your options.

A denture or bridge is not working for you

Movement, discomfort or difficulty eating can often be resolved with implant support.

Your jaw has finished growing and your gums are healthy

Healthy oral tissues, enough bone to hold the implant, and no condition that interferes with healing all make for a straightforward result.

You are happy to give the process time

Implants reward patience. If you can commit several months — and stay away from tobacco, which slows healing considerably — the outcome is worth it.
